Stirling University v Hibernian

SWPL1.  In-form Stirling University take on Hibernian at Gannochy Sports Centre with the home side looking to maintain their excellent form against the title challengers from Edinburgh.  Kick-off is 2pm with admission on the gate.

This is an intriguing fixture many in the SWPL will be keeping their eye on this weekend, none less so than Glasgow City who welcome Hibernian to the Excelsior Stadium on Thursday night for a match that will go a long way to deciding the destination of the title.

Stirling University come into this afternoon’s match full of confidence after their draw with Glasgow City last month.  The reigning champions visited Stirling in search of a win that would see them leapfrog Hibernian to go top of the SWPL1 table, however they encountered an inspired Stirling University side who would not be passed.  It was first-ever point for Stirling against Glasgow City, and while the University side may have been disappointed not to follow that up with a win against Rangers last time out you can be sure they will be fired up to match, if not better, their Glasgow performance against Hibernian this afternoon.

Today’s visitors Hibernain are currently second in the table, two points behind the aforementioned Glasgow City albeit with a game in hand.  For the team from Edinburgh nothing but a win will do before they head to Glasgow for what has the makings of a title showdown on Thursday night.

It’s all set up for an intriguing SWPL1 encounter – will Stirling University take the scalp of the title challengers or will Hibernian continue their winning streak?  All roads lead to Gannochy Sport Centre to find out!

Kick-off is at 2pm.

Venue: Gannochy Sports Centre, University of Stirling.  Parking is free at weekends.

Admission on the day: Adults £4/Kids & Concessions £1.
