Premier League. A must-win match for Chelsea who take on Watford in the final league fixture of the season at Stamford Bridge. Kick-off is at 2pm.
With two draws and a defeat from their last three matches a top-four finish – guaranteeing a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League – is by no means a certainty for Chelsea. However a 1-1 draw against Manchester United last weekend does at least means the Blues have their destiny in their own hands with Arsenal in fifth place their closest challengers and 2 points adrift.
A win today against Watford followed by three points away to Leicester next weekend will see Chelsea at the top table of European football for season 2019/2020.
Previous head-to-head: 26 December 2018. Chelsea winning the Boxing Day match at Vicarage Road 2-1 with Eden Hazard netting twice.
One to watch: Chelsea’s aforesaid Eden Hazard. The Belgium maestro plays well, the Blues play well. Currently on 16 goals in the Premier League for the season if Hazard nets today it will be his most successful campaign since joining Chelsea in 2012.
Kick-off is at 2pm.
Tickets are sold out.
