A highlight on the horse racing calendar London’s Night At The Races is under starter’s order at Sandown Park. Gates open 4pm ahead of live music from 4.20pm and racing from 6pm. ‘Tickets’ purchased in advance attract a discount.
A six-race card includes not one but two Group 3 races this evening at Sandown Park. At 7.05pm 11 runners go to post in the Matchbook VIP Henry II Stakes a true test of stamina run over 2 miles. In 2017 the popular Big Orange took the spoils before heading to Royal Ascot to triumph in the Gold Cup.
At 7.35pm there’s a middle-distance showdown over 1 mile, 2 furlongs in the Matchbook Brigadier Gerard Stakes. Once again 11 runners and riders will head for the starting gate with the winner in line for a prize of £39,697.
Alongside the racing there’s delicious street food, Pimms, Prosecco and plenty of entertainment to enjoy with live music performances from resident artists of The Roundhouse – sets at 4:20pm, 4:50pm and 5:20pm – featuring everything from folk and soul to pop.
Gates open at 4pm. First race at 6pm.
Tickets in advance are available via the ‘Get Tickets’ link. Advance purchases attract a discount.
