Festival Square in Edinburgh is the place to be this afternoon for #CelebrateTheGreat an open-air celebration to recognise the success of Team GB and the amazing achievements of Scottish Olympic and Paralympic athletes this summer.
Team GB produced a truly phenomonal performance in Rio and Scotland’s sportsman and sportswomen formed an integral part of that of that success. Some 50 athletes in will be in attendance, including 18 medallists, as the Scottish capital is given an opportunity to welcome home its Olympic and Paralympic heroes.
Bryan Burnett and Rhona McLeod will MC the event, introducing Scotland’s sportsmen and sportswomen onto the stage to talk about their experiences in and memories of Rio. There will also be an opportunity for the crowd to have autographs and photographs with their sporting heroes at what promises to be a memorable occasion.
Celebrations starts at 3pm.
