Friars Haugh. Point-to-Point racing

The opening Scottish point-to-point meeting of 2018 takes place this afternoon with the Jedforest fixture at Friars Haugh, Kelso.  It has attracted a bumper 90 entries for an exciting afternoon of racing starting at 12.30pm with tickets available.

Rescheduled from last weekend there’s a seven-race card in store today at Friars Haugh starting at 12.30pm.  Gates open at 10.30am ahead of a great day out for all in the countryside including a public bar, catering and children’s entertainment to complement the racing.  Admission is on the day priced at £10 adults and U16s free.

First race at Friars Haugh is at 12.30pm.

Course and spectator details for Friars Haugh:  A hill in the centre of the course provides a natural grandstand from which the action can be watched.  The course is left-handed, predominately flat with a sharp turn and climb immediately after fence 7.   The finishing straight to the winning post is approximately 150 years including one fence. The course is located just west of Kelse and near the A699.  Click the ‘view on map’ link for more details.
