The O2 is the place to be this afternoon for 2019 benecos Play-Off Finals and the finale of the 2018/2019 British Basketball domestic season. Tip-off is at 1.30pm and tickets are available.
Triumph and despair await at one of the world’s leading basketball arenas as The O2 hosts this landmark event on the UK basketball calendar for the fifth time. The biggest event in the British Basketball calendar features both the men’s (BBL) and women’s (WBBL) Play-off finals meaning the climax to the 2018-19 season features an exhilarating end-of-season double bill.
WBBL final is Sevenoaks Suns v Leicester Riders in a repeat of the 2018 final. The current title holders are Sevenoaks Suns – for whom this year’s match at The O2 is their third visit in a row. Can Riders get their revenge for last year’s defeat and lay claim to the 2019 play-off silverware?
Previous meeting: The sides last went head-to-head on 13 January. The outcome an impressive 77-58 road win for Sevenoaks Suns.
BBL final is Leicester Riders v London City Royals. 2017 and 2018 Play-Off champions Riders saw off the Plymouth Raiders in the semi-finals. Meanwhile Royals – enjoying a memorable inaugural season in the BBL having already won the BBL Trophy in March – proved too strong for Sheffield Sharks.
Previous meeting: 5 April in Leicester. A tight match ending 86-78 in favour of the Riders.
