The waiting is over as England return to Test action at the Home of Cricket. 2026 saw England complete a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Pakistan. In 2027 the red-ball action in north London will feature the visit of Bangladesh from Friday 28 May to Tuesday 1 June followed by a showdown against Australia from Wednesday 30 June to Sunday 4 July. PREVIEW – ENGLAND TEST MATCH LORD’S
England’s men welcome the world number six side Bangladesh to the Home of Cricket from Friday 28 May with the hosts looking to get their summer off to a winning start. The match is a one-off Test. Later in the summer attention turns to what could be an epic Ashes encounter against world number one side Australia. The Black Greens are at Lord’s for the second Test starting on Wednesday 30 June. Part of a five-match series concluding at Kia Oval.
2025 and 2026 RECAP
In 2026, England bounced back from a 2-1 Test series defeat to New Zealand on home soil by completing a 3-0 clean sweep against Pakistan. In the match at Lord’s, Dan Lawrence scored a second inning half-century as England won by 194 runs.
2025 saw Joe Root take the plaudits at Lord’s against Pakistan. England’s standout player scored a century in the first innings. In doing so Root became the first cricketer to score 3,000 Test runs against India. Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets for India in the first innings but to no avail. England won a fiercely contested match by 22 runs to go 2-1 up in the series.
Turning to 2026, all eyes will be on the visit of Australia as England look to regain the famous Ashes urn they last won in 2023.
