The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will feature athletes from 74 nations taking part in a 10-sport programme across four venues in Glasgow: Scotstoun Stadium, Tollcross International Swimming Centre, the Emirates Arena and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, and the Scottish Event Campus (SEC).
The sports are: Athletics and Para Athletics, Swimming and Para Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Cycling Track and Para Cycling Track, Netball, Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, Boxing, Judo, Bowls (indoor) and Para Bowls (indoor), and 3×3 Basketball and 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball | 🎟️ Subscribe for updates and ticket news at the Glasgow 2026 website here.

🚴♂️🚴🚴♂️ CYCLING (M). TOUR DE FRANCE ~ July ~ Edinburgh & beyond
Save the date! The Grand Départ of the 114th edition of the Tour de France will take place in the city centre of Edinburgh in July 2027. Three stages of the tour (the world’s biggest bike race) will then trace a route from Scotland, through England and into Wales.
Glasgow, the Lake District, Manchester, mid-Wales and south Wales are all expected to feature, along with Edinburgh. It promises to be the biggest free spectator event ever hosted in the UK.
When the news was announced, Christian Prudhomme, general director of the men’s Tour de France, described Edinburgh as a “magical city”.
He added: “In the Tour de France, what is very important is the helicopter shots. So Edinburgh and Scotland will offer a magnificent backdrop.”
