⚽️ The 2026/2027 Women’s Super League season continues with a bumper weekend of action in the capital as London City Lionesses host Brighton at Chigwell Construction Stadium on Saturday 26 September followed by an eagerly anticipated London derby clash between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 27 September.
Arsenal, Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and London City Lionesses are the seven London teams taking part in the 2026/2027 Women’s Super League (WSL) season and Women’s FA Cup.
Manchester City are the defending WSL champions after they lifted the trophy in May for the first time in a decade. Arsenal were runners-up with Chelsea (who had previously won the title six seasons in a row) finishing in third place. Manchester City completed a domestic double after their 4-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s FA Cup.

ONES TO WATCH – Women’s Super League London teams
A host of England’s star players will be in action for teams in the capital. Lionesses captain Leah Williamson will once again lead Arsenal after captaining England’s women to EURO 2025 glory. Joining Williamson is fellow England star Chloe Kelly who scored the winning penalty against Spain. Beth Mead, Michelle Agyemang and Lotte Wubben-Moy complete a strong contingent of England players in the Arsenal ranks.
Chelsea also field a formidable contingent of Lionesses in their squad including forward Lauren James and standout goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. They are joined by Lucy Bronze – who last season returned to the WSL after two years at Barcelona – along with Keira Walsh and Aggie Beever-Jones.
