SEASON SO FAR
Spurs will be satisfied after a 2-1 win over Luton Town in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They remain fifth in the table.
The visitors made the perfect start after Tahith Chong fired the Hatters ahead after three minutes, silencing the home crowd. Nevertheless, Ange Postecoglou’s side grew into the game despite not scoring in the opening half at home for the seventh game in a row. The Lilywhites equalised just after half-time following an Issa Kabore own-goal. The hosts kept pressing and captain fantastic Son Heung-min fired the hosts ahead, sending the home fans into raptures. His 15th goal of the season took Son into Spurs’ top-five goalscorers of all-time; a historic day in North London!
Update Sunday 4 May: Spurs’ miserable end to the season continued with a defeat at Anfield against Liverpool on Sunday. A 4-2 scoreline made it four defeats in a row for the White Hart Lane side who must now win their remaining three matches – and hope that Aston Villa slip up – to secure Champions League football next season.
