SEASON SO FAR
Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday. The Reds remain in third place.
‘Egyptian King’ Mohamed Salah was back to his best for Jurgen Klopp’s side, scoring the opener and providing two assists converted by Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott respectively. Spurs’ terrible record at Anfield continued. They have not won on Merseyside since 2011. Disappointing for Klopp, Richarlison and Son Heung-min scored late on for the visitors to soften the blow of a terrible display, but it was ultimately to no avail. Despite the emphatic performance, the hosts know the title race is wrapped up. Now what’s left to play for is pride and to send off Jurgen Klopp in dramatic fashion.
Up next, Liverpool host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday 19 May. It’s the final day of the Premier League season. While neither club has anything particular to play, the Reds will be hoping for a triumphant swansong for Klopp as he bows out one of the greatest Premier League managers.
