The last time the sides met in Twickenham was in 2025. On that occasion the Red Roses defeated France 43-42 to claim the Women’s Six Nations title for a magnificent seven times in a row. It was also their fourth straight Grand Slam title. That followed a 2023 match-up when the Red Roses beat France 38-33 in front of a then world-record crowd of over 58,000 at Twickenham.
Now England are all set to face the French once again. John Mitchell’s side will face les Bleues at the home of English rugby in the final round of the Women’s Six Nations. An average of just over 60 points have been scored in the past five meetings between the two teams which leans towards another must-see occasion.
“Games against France are always a competitive battle and that’s what makes it one of the most enjoyable games to play in,” captain Meg Jones said.
“When you add the walk-in from the bus, the roar of the Allianz Stadium crowd and a sea of cowboy hats, it makes it an even more in-credible occasion. It’s one we relish and are looking for-ward to.”
