2025 EVENT PREVIEW
Ham Polo Club is the place to be this summer for The Independence Cup and two action-packed days of polo fun and festivities.
Taking place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 July, London’s only polo club is set for a first of its kind fixture showcasing world-class polo as never before. Everyone is invited to an event that will be full of British style and American spirit . Friday is anchored by a headline match featuring “The Jacks v Stripes”. Saturday is a family day. The Independence Cup is a polo party you don’t want to miss!
Friday 4 July – Corporate Day & Friday Night Polo Party
The weekend starts early with a unique take on the 4th of July celebrations. At the outset the focus is on corporate groups and business leaders, who can enjoy an elevated hospitality experience with premium dining and networking opportunities.
From 3pm, international polo takes centre stage. Back-to-back matches will feature top-tier teams from the USA against their UK counterparts. Throughout the matches, live commentary will guide guests through the rules, strategies, and excitement of the game, ensuring everyone can fully engage with and appreciate the sport, regardless of whether you’re a polo enthusiast or not.
As the afternoon turns into the evening the atmosphere shifts to Ham Polo Club’s iconic Friday Night Polo Party. A high-energy evening filled with music, drinks, dancing, and a live DJ. These vibrant social nights are a much-loved tradition at Ham Polo Club and the 4th of July edition promises to be the most memorable yet. Full timings below.

Saturday 5 July – Family Day & Saturday Night Polo Party
Saturday is a fun-filled, family-friendly daytime experience at Ham Polo Club, perfect for all ages. Starting at 11am, families can enjoy pony rides, children’s entertainment, face painting and more. All set against the thrilling backdrop of two live polo matches (at 1.30pm and 3pm) that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the day.
The grounds will come alive with vibrant performing arts, acoustic music sets, country flags flying high, and a boutique shopping village filled with artisan goods and curated brands. Guests will be able to relax with a drink in hand from one of the pop-up bars or champagne stations, and savour delicious eats from a variety of American BBQ food stalls.
From 6pm and as the sun sets, the energy will shift and the atmosphere transform into a high-energy summer party. With live music, DJs, and dancing into the night, the evening is tailor-made for the festival-loving crowd, looking for something unique, stylish, and full of summer spirit. Full timings below.

Travel to The Independence Cup
🚗 By car: Take the A307 (Petersham Road) from Richmond or Kingston. The entrance is directly opposite the Fox & Duck Pub—follow the Club signage and take the road to the left of the gatehouse. Parking is free.
🚊 By public transport: Take the South Western Railway or District Line to Richmond Station, then catch bus 65 or 371 to Sandpits Road. The grounds are approximately a 10-minute walk from there.
