A speedway showdown to savour the latest instalment of Glasgow Tigers v Edinburgh Monarchs is ready to go down at Peugeot Ashfield stadium with the Scottish Cup at stake. Tapes-up is at 3pm and tickets are available.
There’s never any quarter asked or given when these two teams take to the shale and you can be sure there will be no change to that today.
So far this year it’s Glasgow Tigers who have enjoyed Scottish speedway bragging rights with a season to savour riding high at the top of the SGB Championship, while Edinburgh Monarchs have toiled towards the bottom of the table. But form will likely go out of the window this evening in this Scottish Cup deciding leg.
The Tigers are expecting a big crowd for this eagerly anticipated derby fixture – the first leg took place on Friday night at Armadale Stadium – and fans are advised to go early to get the best area to watch the action. Stand by for the next instalment of Glasgow Tigers v Edinburgh Monarchs rivalry.
Previous meeting between the sides: 30 June 2019 at Ashfield. Glasgow Tigers getting their speedway claws out to inflict a 55-35 drubbing on their Scottish rivals.
One to watch: Glasgow Tigers Craig Cook. The Tigers No1 has been in scintillating form this season and if he’s in the mood and groove this afternoon the Scottish Cup will be well on the way to Ashfield.
Doors open at 1pm at what is sure to be a packed crowd at Peugeot Ashfield Stadium come the start of Heat 1 at 3pm.

Travel tips: Let the train take the strain. A regular service connects Glasgow’s Queen Street Station in the heart of the city with Ashfield Stadium and the journey takes just 10 minutes including the walk from Ashfield station to the stadium. Check the timetable here.
Travel by Bus. The following routes service the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium:
75 – Castlemilk / Milton (operated by First Bus)
90 – Partick / Braehead (operated by First Bus)
Driving by car. Secure parking is available on Hawthorn Street opposite Mobility Solutions (£2 charge).
