The bottom two sides in the BT Premiership go head-to-head at Bridgehaugh Park in a match both Gala and Hawick will be desperate to win.
Gala survived a play-off decider against Marr to preserve their Premiership status last season, but any thoughts their form would be much-improved this campaign have so far proved wishful thinking. A record of 2 wins and 5 losses is one they share with today’s opponents Hawick, with the latter only occupying bottom spot due to Gala having taken a bonus point.
Hawick will take some comfort from their nail-biting win at home to Currie last time out. A 27-26 win helping to erase the memory of their 78-13 thrashing to Glasgow Hawks the weekend prior. With both teams low on confidence this ‘Battle of the Borders’ may well come down to who best holds their nerve and makes the least amount of mistakes.
