🏅 A bumper athletics summer season continues with the BMC Record Breaker Meet on Wednesday 19 August at Tooting Bec.

Tooting BMC has built a reputation for hosting one of the most competitive events in the UK athletics calendar.  Hosted by Herne Hill Harriers, it first took place in 2022.  This year’s edition at Tooting Bec Athletics Track in south London is hotly anticipated with top athletes from home and abroad set to compete.  Spectating is free!

The MarketAxess sponsored British Milers Club (BMC) fixture is nicknamed the ‘Record Breaker Meet’.  It has a reputation of showcasing an array of elite middle-distance stars.  Olympians, internationals and some of the country’s best 800m, 1500m and 5000m runners have competed in previous editions.  Last year’s men’s 800m race featured a memorable showdown between 2022 1500m world champion Jake Wightman and 800m world bronze medallist Ben Pattison.

RACES TIMES AND START LISTS 

Racing gets underway at 6.15pm and will continue until around 9.30pm (full timetable and start lists will appear here on the BMC event page.  The 2025 event featured several winners from the UK trials including women’s 1500m champion Sarah Calvert.  A host of other top British and overseas also took part including the likes of Nick Griggs, Isabelle Boffey, Georgie Grgec, Adam Fogg and India Weir.  In the women’s 800m, Erin Wallace and Sarah Healy from the M11 Track Club were both in action.

PRIZE MONEY

🎟️ Spectating is free.  

🕒 Timetable.  Races start from 6.15pm with the final race around 9.30pm.  

🚊🚗 Travel tips: The nearest station is Tooting Broadway tube station on the Northern line.  This is around a 15-minute walk to the track.  Streatham overground station is approximately a 20-minute walk.  Multiple bus routes stop near to the track.  These include the 249, 319, G1, and 315 lines.  Plan your journey at the Transport for London website.
