🏀 WBBL. Caledonia Pride welcome Essex Rebels to The Peak in Stirling for a showdown between two sides urgently in need of points to climb the table. Tip-off is at 5pm and tickets are on sale.
Maximum points and a morale-boosting win is very much the aim of the game this evening for Caledonia Pride against the Essex Rebels. Last time out the Edinburgh side spent a frustrating afternoon trying, but just failing, to get on terms with Durham Palatinates who eventually left the Pleasance Sports Complex with a 77-65 scoreline in their favour. That reverse for Pride followed a tough day at the office the previous weekend when they came away from a visit to defending champions Sevenoaks Suns on the end of a 78-44 defeat.

Currently lying in ninth place in the WBBL Championship there is no need for Caledonia Pride to panic, with plenty of matches left to play and a clutch of sides above them within striking distance. However a repeat of the form they showed back in October when registering a a comprehensive 82-63 road win against Cardiff Met Archers – followed by narrow defeats to Oakland Wolves and Manchester Mystics – would be much welcome.
Essex Rebels arrive at The Peak having yet to win a match in the league (at the time of writing) and level with BA London Lions and Cardiff Met Archers at the bottom of the table on 0 points.
Can Caldedonia Pride take the ‘W’ that will will see them close the gap on the sides in mid-table and put them in good stead for the visit of high-flying Leicester Riders on 4 January? All roads lead to The PEAK – the new indoor complex at the heart of the Stirling Sports Village – to find out.
🏀 Tip-off: 5pm.
