Blackford Highland Games

The 148th Gathering of the famous Blackford Highland Games, an event steeped in history that has been held annually in May since 1870.  Gates open at 12.30pm with admission on the gate.

Visitors to the games will be treated to a full list of events including throwing the hammer, tossing the caber, putting the shot, tug o’ war, athletics, track and field events, dancing with side shows, trade and refreshment stands.

The Games park opens at 11am when some of the competitions (Heavy weights and Highland Dancing) begin, however the Games don’t officially open until the pipe band leads the parade into the park.  The parade begins around 12.30pm at Tullibardine distillery before a procession around the village.  The bulk of the competitions then begin after the formal opening with the Games, ending around 4:30pm.

Admission on the day: Adults £6/Senior Citizens and Students £4/Children £1/Cars £1.
