Chris Gilmour and Prospect Boxing. Stirling Albert Halls. March 2016.

GCG Proudly Presents …

Chris Gilmour in association with Prospect Boxing host an evening of quality boxing action at Stirling Albert Halls, featuring a total of five fights on the card.

Unbeaten Bannockburn welterweight James Thomson is set for his first title challenge.  After extending his record as a pro to six straight wins when topping the bill at the Albert Halls in November last year, tonight the 26-year-old will contest the vacant British Classic Challenge belt.

Promoter Chris Gilmour, who co-promotes with Paul Graham of Prospect Boxing, said: “There was an amazing turnout to see James at the show in November.

“The novelty factor was definitely there as pro boxing returned to Stirling for the first time in almost 75 years and James really thrived in the atmosphere.

“He’s still at the early stages of his pro career, but it will be great for him and his fans as he takes his first steps up the title ladder next month.

“Paul and I are working hard to secure a suitable opponent, but there’s no doubt whoever it is will provide James with the toughest test of his fledgling career and he will need to be at his very best if he wants to finish the night with a belt wrapped around his waist.”

Lauriston’s Derek Skinner – who made his pro debut at welterweight on the November show in Stirling – aims for a second successive victory, as does Alloa light-middleweight Darin Reid. Super-featherweight Martin Buchanan of Alva has his first pro contest on this Chris Gilmour and Prospect Boxing show against a selected opponent.
