2022 EVENT PREVIEW

Some 300 male and female boxers will follow in some very famous footsteps as they take part in the Haringey Box Cup this week in north London.

Taking place 17-19 June this international amateur tournament is steeped in history with previous winners reading like a who’s who of British and Irish boxing stars.

Haringey amateur and double Olympic champion Nicola Adams took the Box Cup silverware in 2009, while two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua won the event twice in a row ahead of his gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics.  Irish superstar Katie Taylor won both silverware and the best female boxer award at the tournament in 2010, the start of a glittering career in both the amateur and professional ranks.

Five rings will be set up in The Great Hall for three days of fast and furious action featuring amateur boxers from across the globe.
