CONGRATULATIONS to Fabio Wardley who won by stoppage against Joseph Parker on a dramatic night of heavyweight boxing at London’s O2 Arena.  Wardley was behind on the cards when he rocked Parker with an uppercut in the 10th round, before launching a sustained onslaught in the 11th round.  With Parker pinned on the ropes and under heavy fire, referee Howard Foster stepped in and waved off the fight.  Wadley’s fairytale story continues.  The ex-white collar fighter from Ipswich is now next in line to face undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.  And anyone who purchased Parker v Wardley tickets had a night to remember.

MAIN EVENT PREVIEW

Buckle up for a heavyweight showdown to savour following the announcement Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley will meet at The O2 on Saturday 25 October

It’s England v New Zealand after Queensberry Promotions confirmed Fabio Wardley and Joseph Parker have agreed to clash in the capital on Saturday 25 October.  The O2 is lined up to host the fight.  The stakes are high as the winner will be set to land a shot at winning the world heavyweight title.  Parker v Wardley tickets will be available to witness the action live!

Parker is a former WBO heavyweight champion who has lost only 3 times in 36 fights.  Previous opponents include Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.  Currently he holds the WBO heavyweight interim title and is looking to stay busy after just two fights in the last 16 months.  Parker beat Zhilei Zhang on a majority decision in March 2024 before knocking out Martin Bakole in two rounds back in February.

The 33-year-old Kiwi is next in line to face undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.  But with the Ukrainian currently injured that fight won’t take place anytime soon.  Parker has grown weary of waiting for the opportunity.  Which leads him to a date with the dangerous Wardley.

Wardley, who hails from Ipswich, is unbeaten in the professional ranks and holds the WBA interim title.  A belt he claimed with a sensational tenth-round knockout of Justis Huni in June.  That victory followed on from Wardley’s devastating inside-a-round defeat of Frazer Clarke in their all-British showdown in October 2024.

Will it be Parker or Wardley who is triumphant?  All roads lead to Greenwich Peninsula to find out!
