Braemar Gathering

The Braemar Gathering returns for 2019 on its usual date of the first Saturday in September, taking place in The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar.

This popular annual event attracts competitors and spectators from all over the world, with an annual attendance of around 16,000 and often including members of the Royal Family in attendance.

The massed pipe bands provide an excellent spectacle in this unique event taking place in the village of Braemar, amidst the heather clad Cairngorm Mountains.  Look out for plenty of Games favourites including Highland Dancing, Tossing the Caber, Piping, Relay Race,  Putting the Stone and Throwing the Hammer.

A Hill Race will again be run up Morrone, and the day also includes a Tug of War in which teams from H.M. Forces will compete in the InterServices Unit Tug of War Championship, as well as in the Services Medley Relay Race.

Action starts at the Braemar Gathering from 9.30am and finishing around 5pm.

On the day tickets for general admission to the field are available priced:  Adults £12/Children under 14 £2.  Please note no dogs are permitted on the Games field.
