🏀 The British Basketball All-Stars Championship returns to the Copper Box Arena with eight of the best club sides in the UK vying for the trophy. Tickets are available.
Stand by for a non-stop afternoon of fast-paced basketball action featuring multiple 12-minute games, an All-Star 5-point line and the Golden Buzzer Power Play.
The eight teams taking part are defending champions Surrey Scorchers and winners of the inaugural tournament in 2017, London Lions. Joining them are the two dominant teams in recent BBL history, Esh Group Eagles Newcastle and Leicester Riders along with Glasgow Rocks, London City Royals, Cheshire Phoenix and Sheffield Sharks.
Defending champions Surrey Scorchers will face event debutants London City Royals in the opening match. Scorchers lifted the £25,000 title for the first-time last year with a 36-33 overtime victory over Leicester Riders in a thrilling final and will begin their bid to retain the crown against London City Royals, one of two newcomers to the All-Stars court.
Cheshire Phoenix make their tournament bow against Leicester Riders in match four, after 2017 champions London Lions have faced B. Braun Sheffield Sharks and Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks have taken on Newcastle Eagles.
The first stage of the tournament is a double elimination group stage. Teams who win two matches progress to the final four while teams who suffer two defeats are knocked out. Sides who win one and lose one of their opening two fixtures play-off for a semi-final berth.

🚊🚗 Travel tips: Public transport is recommended. Hackney Wick overground and Stratford tube are approximately a 10-minute walk from the Copper Box Arena. Stratford International station (accessible from London St Pancras) is about a 15-minute walk. Very limited parking is available on site although parking is available at nearby Westfield Shopping Centre.
About the British Basketball All-Stars Championships: The British Basketball All-Stars is an exciting afternoon of basketball featuring a host of 12-minute matches.
Across a five-hour session teams play in a double elimination format: Two wins advances the team straight through to the semi finals, two losses results in elimination. Teams winning one and losing one play a deciding match for a place in the last four. Double elimination will be in play to separate the teams from eight down to four ahead of the semi-finals and final.
A total of eight teams will take part made up of defending champions Surrey Scorchers who are joined by the top seven teams from the 2018/19 BBL season London Lions, Esh Group Eagles Newcastle, Leicester Riders, Glasgow Rocks, London City Royals, Cheshire Phoenix and Sheffield Sharks.
The winning team takes home £25,000 with the trophy while the runners-up scoop £20,000. Semi-finalists receive £12,500 with a team securing one win getting £10,000 and no wins £5,000.
The current champions are Surrey Scorchers who were victorious in 2018 after a thrilling 36-33 overtime victory over Leicester Riders, while London Lions won the inaugural Championship in 2017.
