Day 1 of the 2016 British Para-Swimming International at Glasgow’s Tollcross International Swimming Centre.
The British Para-Swimming International Meet returns to Glasgow for the third time, this year doubling up as a vital competition on the road to the Paralympic Games in Rio this summer.
The competition runs daily until Wednesday 27 April and the five-day international meet is the only selection meet for swimmers to make the ParalympicsGB team, meaning athletes have the opportunity to put themselves in contention for selection from their performances at the competition, alongside competing for the individual titles at stake.
Today’s morning session heats start at 9.30am and include the 100m freestyles races and the breaststroke at 50m and 100m lengths, in both the male and female competitions. The evening session will see the earlier winners from the heats go head-to-head in the finals from 5.30pm to compete for places at Rio 2016.
This is the full rundown of the individual heats and finals taking place on Day 1 (together with results as and when they happen), including start lists with all the swimmers in action.
Action starts this morning at 9.30am.
