British Roller Derby Championships: Premier League, Second Leg

A superb day of roller derby action lies ahead as the best teams in the UK go head-to-head in the Premier League at Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Sports Centre.

Auld Reekie Roller Girls are the proud hosts of the second leg of the inaugural Roller Derby British Championships.  The action starts at 9am with a match between Middlesbrough Milk Rollers versus Central City Rollergirls before the home team take to the track at 11am to take on Manchester’s Rainy City Roller Girls.  There are five matches in all concluding at 5pm with a mouth-watering game between the Auld Reekie Roller Girls and their fierce rivals from the west and current league leaders, Glasgow Roller Derby.  It’s a match that promises to be a thriller between the two teams currently ranked No.1 and No.2 in the UK.

The full running order:-

9-11am: Middlesbrough Milk Rollers v Central City Rollergirls
11am -1pm: Auld Reekie Roller Girls v Rainy City Roller Girls
1-3pm: Tiger Bay Brawlers v Glasgow Roller Derby
3-5pm: Rainy City Roller Girls v Middlesbrough Milk Rollers
5-7pm:  Glasgow Roller Derby v Auld Reekie Roller Girls

Alongside the action there will be plenty of other entertainment including raffles, competitions, stalls, cakes, merchandise, games, kids craft corner making it a perfect day out for the whole family!

Tickets are available in advance from Brown Paper Tickets via the ‘Get Tickets’ link.  Tickets also available on the day priced at £12 for the full day (access to all matches, come and go all day as you please) or £5 for the ARRG v GRD game only*.  Under 14s go free with an adult.

* A sell-out is expected for the match between ARRG vs GRD hence purchasing tickets in advance, or early arrival on the day for that fixture, is strongly advised.
