Commonwealth Fencing Championships 2022 ~ Tuesday 9 August to Saturday 20 August

🤺 SportsDock is the place to be for the Commonwealth Fencing Championships.  Taking place in east London across a total of 12 days, the championships are a great opportunity to watch the Olympic sport of fencing up close and personal.  Spectating is free.

The fencing disciplines of Epee, Foil and Sabre will all be showcased at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships, in both individual and team events.  Taking place at the University of East London (UEL) the SportsDock facility is a large multi-purpose sports complex including two connected sports halls.

The championships run from Tuesday 9 August until Saturday 20 August and incorporate a excellent variety of fencing with action in the senior, para, veteran and junior age group categories.

UEL is an ideal venue for fencing having hosted team USA before and during the 2012 London Olympic Games.  For several years it has also hosted the British Senior Championships, the British Cadet & Junior Championships, the Eden Cup (the UK’s Under-20 World Cup), and the Leon Paul Satellite.

UEL SportsDock is also home to the local fencing club Newham Swords, a community foil fencing club with international success coached by Olympians Pierre Harper and Linda Strachan.

With multiple competitions ongoing each day (see below for the daily schedule) you are guaranteed to see lots of high-class fencing.  Hold and cold drinks plus food is available to purchase at the SportsDock cafe at very reasonable prices.

🎟️ Spectating is free throughout the championships.  If you are a group (e.g., a fencing club) interested in coming as a group of 6 or more, please contact the organisers in advance at alex.savin@englandfencing.org.uk so they can make your day as special as possible.
