🏏 A feisty summer of international cricket continues with England v India at the Oval and the fourth (of five) Test match. Taking place Thursday 2 September to Monday 6 September, limited tickets are available from the Surrey CCC ticket exchange.
There’s been no love lost between England and India during the ongoing Test series, and so far it’s India who have kept their cool at key moments to secure a win at Lord’s in the second Test having been denied by rain in the opening match at Trent Bridge.
England looked to be in full control going into the fifth day at Lord’s, only for India’s tailenders Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah to move their team from 209-8 to 298 declared, taking the win away from England. Worse was to follow when with verbals from both sides in full flow England capitulated to 120 all-out to hand India an unlikely victory by 151 runs.
With India 1-0 up in the series the teams head to Headingley for the third Test before arriving at the Oval. Calm heads will be required all round in what is likely be a lively atmosphere and England fans will be hoping the batters can support Joe Root, the captain so far having compiled the bulk England’s runs. Meanwhile India’s captain, the mercurial Virat Kohli, will be sure to have his men firing on all cylinders as they aim to a second Test win the capital.
