Western Warriors take on Eastern Knights at Titwood knowing only a win will do in the latest round of the Cricket Scotland T20 Blitz.
The Pro Team structure in Scotland has been expanded in 2016 by Cricket Scotland with regional sides Western Warriors, Eastern Knights and the Caledonian Highlanders making up the three teams who have been playing each other in two competitions, the CS Pro50 Cup and the CS T20 Blitz.
This evening’s encounter is a T20 match which follows on from Sunday’s Pro50 Cup date between the teams that was abandoned due to rain. The sides will have their fingers crossed for better weather tonight in what could be a pivotal match in deciding who wins this year’s T20 Blitz trophy.
Having defeated Caley Highlanders earlier in June, the Western Warriors have given themselves an outside chance of winning some series silverware but nothing other than a win today will do. The Warriors and the Knights have already met once in the T20, at the end of May, when the Eastern Knights secured a comprehensive 59-run victory at the Grange.
If the Western Warriors can pull off a win tonight, all eyes will then be on the final match of the series on 29 June when Eastern Knights host the Caley Highlanders.
Warriors Squad: Awais, Arfat, Berrington, de Lange, English, Jawad, Malik, McElnea, Rao, Sabri, Tahir, Shahzad and N Smith+.
First ball at 5.30pm.
Admission is on the day. Free entry all spectators.
