Revolution Series Glasgow. Afternoon Session

Revolution Series returns to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome for Round Two of the Champions League.  Purchase your tickets online now for a sporting occasion to savour!

revolution seriesA packed race programme this afternoon includes the Sprinters, Future Stars and events in both the Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s championships.  A total of 11 races are scheduled from 1pm to 4.30pm, with a further 20 events are on the track this evening (tickets for the evening session must be purchased separately).

Among those to look out in the Sprinters races is Jamie Alexander, a member of the Scottish development squad who is starting to make a mark at senior level.

In the Future Stars (Girls) Zoe Backstedt, who races for Boels-Dolmans, produced one of the performances of the night last weekend in London when fighting back to beat Matrix Fitness’ Sophie Lewis in the Points Race, and will be looking to continue her good form.

In the Elite Men’s championship Olympic champion Ed Clancy (pictured above left with his team-mates) will lead JLT Condor who are currently second in the standing to Team Inspired.  Clancy and his team are guaranteed some stiff opposition with British Cycling’s Andy Tennant leading Team Wiggins and Ben Swift, a four-time World Championship medallist, returning from his recent road endeavours to compete for the World All Stars.

All eyes will be on the Team WNT in the Elite Women’s championship after they dominated last weekend courtesy of Milngavie’s Katie Archibald.  Archibald is not racing tonight however in her place is Emily Kay (pictured right) a three-time Future Stars winner between 2009-2012 who returns to the track where she won double gold in the omnium and

the team pursuit at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in November 2016.  Look out too for National Road Champion Lizzie Deignan who leades the Boels Dolmans team and and rising Scottish star Neah Evans who competes for Storey Racing.

Doors for the afternoon session open at 12 noon with action from 1pm to 4.30pm.
