Davis Cup semi-final. GB v Argentina

It’s a sell-out!  Unfortunately there are no tickets remaining for the first day of Great Britain’s Davis Cup semi-final match-up with Argentina, but what an opening day of action it promises to be for the 8000+ ticket holders with some of the world’s best tennis players gracing the court at the Emirates Arena.

For the GB team making through to the semi-finals for the second successive year is an achievement in itself, but they’ll be keen to go one further and defend the trophy they won so memorably in Belgium last year

No-one who was present at the Emirates in 2015 to witness the first round tie versus USA, and the incredible semi-final against Australia, will forget the scenes (and the noise!) in a hurry. Stand by for more of the same (to sample the 2015 semi-final team walk-on atmosphere check out the video below) with Scottish hero Andy Murray leading Team GB from the front.

As is the case with all Davis Cup ties today is dedicated two singles with two matches being played.  A key match-up is Andy Murray’s expected meeting with Juan Martín del Potro which will either take place today or on Sunday, and is a rematch of the Olympic Final in Rio when Murray prevailed to win his second gold medal.  Also in action today will be GB’s Kyle Edmund, an important member of the team when they beat Serbia in the quarter-finals and buoyed by a great performance at the recent US Open where he reached the fourth round.

Doors open at 11am.  Spectators are asked to be in their seats by 12.30pm in readiness for the Opening Ceremony at  12.45pm.  Play is scheduled to start at 1pm.

Tickets are SOLD OUT.
