After their monumental showdown in May in Manchester, Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley are all set to run back their heavyweight rivalry when they meet in the capital on Saturday 17 October . Dubois v Wardley 2 tickets are on sale now.
Londoner Dubois dethroned Wardley to claim the WBO heavywight title when they last met. In the 11th round of a thrilling encounter, referee Howard Foster stopped the fight. Wardley, who hails from Ipswich, had dropped Dubois heavily in the first 10 seconds of the opening round. However, Dubois fought back and started to dominate proceedings from the middle rounds. Suffering from a swollen right eye and badly gashed nose, Wardley was deemed unable to defend himself in the 11th round after a barrage of punches from Dubois. Referee Foster had seen enough and 28 seconds in he waived off the fight giving Dubois a TKO victory.
The rematch was announced during the undercard of Moses Itauma’s IBF heavyweight world title fight with Filip Hrgovic. Dubois and Wardley faced off in the ring with both men confident of winning their second encounter. It promises to be a memorable night of British heavyweight boxing at The O2.
