Scottish Premiership bottom side, Edinburgh Academical welcome Nikki Walkers’ Hawick to Raeburn Place in the BT Scottish Cup third-round. The Robbie Dyes have been ever improving since Walkers appointment as Head Coach and go into this vital game as favourites after fantastic wins against Ayr, Gala, Stirling County and more recently Jed Forest in a feisty Border League game.
Edinburgh Accies are languishing at the bottom of the Premiership at the halfway point in the season, but by no mean does their league position reflect how they have performed. Accies gave Hawick a lesson in playing to the final whistle at home last October, scoring late tries through Robin Snape, James Munro and a brace from Sam Pequeur to take the bonus point win. Recent wins over Stirling County and Currie will give Accies hope of moving up the table when they return to league action. In the meantime Hawick will be hoping that the Christmas break has not stunted their momentum. This is sure to be a brutal cup tie between two of Scotland’s most famous rugby clubs.
Kick-off is at 1.30pm. Admission is cash on the gate only: Adults £12 – Concessions* £8 – U18s free. Entry includes a matchday programme.
