Day 1 of the Edinburgh International Swim Meet and the Royal Commonwealth Pool is the venue for three days of superb action with an international field of swimmers taking part. Action from 9am with tickets available on the door.
The meet is organised by SASA East District in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and between now and Sunday evening Scotland’s best will go head-to-head with a host of other British and European stars.
Leading the way are the best swim stars from Europe including Pernille Blume (Olympic Champion 2016, Denmark), Rikke Moller Pedderson (world record holder, Denmark) and Jennie Johansson (world champion, Sweden). Alongside will be medal-winning Paralympians Bethany Firth and Scott Quin, all of Scotland’s Olympic swimmers and the leading junior swim talent in the UK.
Brunei, Cayman Islands, Denmark, England, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Kenya, Libya, Malaysia, Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Wales are just some of the countries represented. The event will have an added edge as it can be used to used to set A and B qualifying times for the 2017 World Championships in Budapest.
With the scene set for some exciting racing these are the events taking place today while full session details and heat/finals times can be viewed via the full daily timetable.
Session times today: heats taking place in the morning session and afternoon session from 9am,through until 3pm, ahead of the evening finals session from 5pm.
Ticket information: Online ticket sales are now finished. Tickets for heats and finals sessions can be purchased on the day on a cash-only basis.**

Heats Friday/Saturday/Sunday £5.00 for each day
Finals Friday/Saturday/Sunday £7.00 for each day
Concession Tickets (14 years and under and 65 years and over):
Heats Friday/Saturday/Sunday £4.00 for each day
Finals Friday/Saturday/Sunday £6.00 for each day
** Tickets are not assigned to particular seats and you will be asked to vacate seats at the end of the heats sessions to allow the pool staff to tidy the spectator gallery
Parking: Unless you have been issued with a permit there is no parking at Royal Commonwealth Pool. Alternative parking options can be viewed on page 2 of this guide.
