The Edinburgh Pro-Am returns to the Corn Exchange tonight with its best ever line-up!
Every cloud has a silver lining and while Dutchman Michael van Gerwen has had to withdraw at short notice, he has been replaced by none other than Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, aka the greatest player ever to throw a dart! The 16-time World Champion is joined on the oche by his fierce rival and 5 times World Championship winner Raymond van Barneveld, making his first appearance in the competition. Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock will fly the flag for Australia and leading the Scottish charge is Edinburgh Pro-Am defending champion Robert Thornton. Joining them will be 4 qualifiers and wildcards looking to cause an upset.
With four of the world’s best professional darts players in action a memorable night of darts is in prospect. And Thornton is hoping that the Scottish crowd can help him get one over on his international counterparts, commenting in the lead up: “I’m really looking forward to playing in Edinburgh again. I’m up for it and it would be great to get a win in my own country. The line-up is fantastic and it is the kind of players you would expect to see in the semi-finals of a big TV tournaments so I’m sure it will be a sell-out crowd and I hope most of them will be cheering me on!”
Unreserved seating e-tickets at £25 each plus booking fee are available in advance via ‘Get Tickets’. Tickets for Platinum tables and VIP tables at £75 and £45 respectively are available up until Thursday 16th April on 07733886566. See below for more information about each ticket type.
Unreserved seating tickets at £25 each will also be available on the night.
Platinum tables (£75 per person) are in the first 3 or 4 rows of tables. They include access to a private bar before the event (opens 5.45p.m.) where there will be a chance to meet and greet the players, have photographs taken with them and watch them practice. It is very rare to be able to have such up close and personal access to the players- at the other events they are hidden away and surrounded by security guards. Then you will have an excellent view at the front of the room when the tournament starts. A burger voucher is included for each guest. There is table service for drinks orders and drinks can be ordered in advance.
VIP tables (£45 per person) are in the centre of the venue with excellent views of the stage and the many big screens that will be operational on the evening. They will be reserved from front to back in order of purchase, so it is recommended to book early so you are nearer the front. There is table service for drinks orders and drinks can be ordered in advance.
Unreserved areas are at the rear and sides of the room. There will still be views of most of the big screens and the stage and access to the venue bar, although no table service for drinks.
