PREVIOUS ENGLISH OPEN WINNERS
The defending champion is Mark Allen. Allen lifted the Steve Davis Trophy after he prevailed 9-8 in a thrilling final against Zhou Yuelong. Trailing 6-2, Yuelong roared back to lead 8-7. But Allen held his nerve to win the final two frames and end an 18-month wait for a ranking title.
Allen succeeded Australia’s Neil Robertson who lifted the trophy in 2024. Robertson ended a two-year trophy drought with a 9-7 win over Wu Yize .
In 2023 Judd Trump (pictured in action below) lifted the silverware beating Zhang Anda 9-7 in the final. Trump joined 2022 champion Mark Selby (pictured at the bottom) as a two-time English Open champion.
