2019 European SCA Beach Volleyball Finals

Stand by for three days of international beach volleyball as the 2019 European SCA Beach Volleyball Finals return to Scotland and a purpose-built venue in Perth.  Spectating is free.

This CEV SCD (Small Countries Association) beach volleyball event features teams from across Europe competing against Scottish Internationalists for the title of the European SCA Champion not to mention valuable world ranking points.

Scottish Beach Volleyball’s showcase event of the year will take place at the newly established permanent facility at Darnhall Tennis Club in Perth.

Announcing the event the national governing body commented: ‘Scottish Volleyball are really excited to host another international beach volleyball event, this time in a brand new in-land community build in Perth, Scotland.  This tournament will see teams from all over Europe travel to Scotland to compete for the title of European Small Countries Association Champions.

‘We are delighted to host teams from Cyprus, Iceland, Monaco, England, Ireland and Northern Ireland, in both the men’s and women’s competition as well as our very own Scottish national teams, including the experienced Team Scotland Commonwealth Games pairing of Lynne Beattie and Mel Coutts, as well as other aspiring Scottish players as the journey to Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games continues.

‘Play will commence on Friday morning, and culminates with our semi-finals and finals on Sunday afternoon.’

Beach volleyball made its debut in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018 and as above has subsequently been confirmed to return for the 2022 Games in Birmingham.  A real spectator-friendly sport for a flavour of what to expect take a look at this video of a previous CEV international tournament held at Portobello Beach, Edinburgh.

Matches from 20-21 September start at 9am daily and continue till 8pm.

Finals take place are on Sunday 22 Sepember.  Men’s at 1pm.  Women’s at 2pm.

Admission to the European SCA Beach Volleyball Finals is free to spectators on all three days of competition.
