An enthralling match-up in store at Gayfield Park this afternoon as promotion-chasing Arbroath play host to Edinburgh City who are fighting to maintain their League Two status. Kick-off is 3pm with admission on the gate.
Last Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate with bitter Angus rivals and fellow promotion contenders Forfar Athletic means Dick Campbell’s Arbroath are still trailing the Loons by a single point at the top of the table with just four league games to go. The Red Lichties have won four of their last six league games and it is that run of form that has seen them close the gap on the league leaders. Meanwhile Edinburgh City have managed to defy most people’s expectations in their first season in the top tiers of Scottish football and three points today would go a long way to ensuring their safety.
Previous head-to-heads: This is the fourth and final meeting between these sides this season and it’s been difficult to separate them in their head-to-heads up to now; the first game of the season was a 3-3 thriller, Edinburgh scraped a 1-0 victory in the second meeting but it was Arbroath who had the spoils in the most recent meeting, with Ferns and Kader earning them a 2-0 win.
Kick-off is at 3pm.
Admission is on the gate priced: Adults £13/Concessions £7/Adult + Child £15.
