2025 MATCH PREVIEW
The biggest club match in European football returns to Allianz Arena for the first time since 2012 when Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties. 75,000 fans will watch sporting history made on Saturday 31 May. Champions League final hospitality is available.
This year’s tournament has reached the quarter-final stage. Eight teams remain as follows:
Arsenal v Real Madrid ~ Bayern Munich v Inter ~ PSG v Aston Villa ~ Barcelona v Borussia Dortmund
2024 MATCH REVIEW
History beckoned at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 1 June. The best of the best went head-to-head at this showpiece event of the European men’s football club calendar .
Manchester City were the defending champions after their 1-0 win over Inter Milan in June 2023 en route to a history treble.
The 2024 finalists were Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. And it was Real who came out on top. They won 2-0 thanks to goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinícius Júnior. It was a historic 15th Champions League title for the Spanish masters.
Known as the ‘Home of Football’ Wembley hosted the prestigious occasion tonight for a record eighth time. More than any other stadium.
AC Milan defeated Benfica 2-1 in Wembley’s first European final in 1963 before Manchester United became the competition’s first English winners thanks to their 4-1 extra-time triumph against the same Portuguese side in 1968.
In 1971, Ajax beat Panathinaikos 2-0 to lift the trophy for the first time, and there was also a 1-0 win for Liverpool against Club Brugge in 1978. Barcelona then won their first European Cup there in 1992 with a 1-0 extra-time defeat of Sampdoria, and claimed the trophy for the fourth time in 2011 after overcoming Manchester United 3-1. Most recently, Bayern beat Dortmund 2-1 in the all-German decider in 2013.
Who will prevail on the hallowed Wembley turf? 90,000 will watch the action unfold from beneath the iconic arch in this famous cathedral of football.
