⚽️ Championship. Charlton Athletic welcome Luton Town to The Valley for a showdown between two sides with relegation concerns. Kick-off is at 3pm and tickets are on general sale.
Charlton Athletic have experienced a challenging season back in the Championship after the memorable day at Wembley Stadium back in May when a late, late goal from Patrick Bauer sent Addicks fans into raptures, their team victorious in the League One Play-Off Final against Sunderland.
It wasn’t so long ago that Lee Bowyer’s men were eyeing a place in the play-offs, but a poor run of form has seen them slip down to 19th in the table on 36 points just five points clear of the relegation zone. A recent away victory against high-flying Nottingham Forest was a welcome boost for Charlton, but they couldn’t follow it up suffering a 2-0 home reverse to Blackburn Rovers last weekend.
Today’s visitors Luton Town come into this afternoon’s match knowing nothing than a win will do if they are not to risk being cut adrift in the relegation zine. The Hatters are currently second from bottom on 30 points while Stoke City – who are in 21st spot which represents safety – are on 34 points.
Previous head-to-head: Last November at Kenilworth Road. Luton taking all three points with a 2-1 win.
⚽️ Kick-off is 3pm.
