SEASON SO FAR
Chelsea will be disappointed with their 2-4 loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. A result which saw the Blue drop to eleventh in the table.
Chelsea’s starboy Cole Palmer opened the scoring for Chelsea who were aiming to cruise to a fifth home league win in a row. However, from thereon, momentum shifted. The visitors got a foothold in the game just a few minutes later when Cunha equalised for Gary O’Neil’s side. That was the start of a hat-trick for the Portuguese striker, who dispatched a penalty late into the game to ensure three points travelled back to the West Midlands. Thiago Silva scored a late consolation goal for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but could only soften the blow of the deafening boos at full-time.
Update: 17 February. Chelsea took a valuable point off title-chasing Man City. The sides could not be split at the Etihad Stadium in a match which ended 1-1. Chelsea move up to tenth in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of the top-six.
Up next at Stamford Bridge, attention turns to the FA Cup as Chelsea host Leeds United tin a fifth round tie on Wednesday 28 February.
ONES TO WATCH
Starboy Cole Palmer has been Chelsea’s best player of the season so far; the driving force in the side. Prolific winger Raheem Sterling has flourished under new management, while Enzo Fernandez pulls the strings in midfield.
