Dumbarton have been struggling for a consistent run of form all season as a consequence of which the Sons are currently eighth in the table just 3 points ahead of Falkirk who are in the relegation play-off spot. Meanwhile St Mirren are riding high at the top of the league, a run of four wins from five matches taking them ot the summit with a 6 point lead over nearest challengers Dundee United in second place.
