The FA Community Shield is an annual fixture which has taken place since 1908.  Previously known as the FA Charity Shield it pits the Premier League and FA Cup final winners from the previous season against each other as a curtain-raiser for the new season.  This year’s match between Manchester United and Manchester City will take place on Saturday 10 August and Community Shield hospitality is available to watch the latest chapter of this historic match.

In 2023, Arsenal took the spoils following a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Manchester City.  The Gunners won 4-1 on penalties after equalising deep into stoppage time.

This year’s Community Shield is an all-Manchester affair.  Man City made history last season becoming the first team to win the Premier League four times in a row.  But a double-double wasn’t to be as arch rivals Man Utd beat them in the FA Cup final.  The Red Devils stunned the Cityzens with a 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.  Less than three months later City have a chance to gain revenge.

Who will follow in the 2023 footsteps of Arsenal by claiming the first silverware of the new season?  All will be revealed at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.
