Premier League rivals Manchester City and Watford go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium in the 2019 FA Cup Final. Kick-off is at 5pm and tickets are sold-out.
The FA Cup Final returns to Wembley following last season’s encounter which saw Chelsea lift the trophy following a 1-0 win over Manchester United. This afternoon Manchester City will aim to go one better than their United counterparts and win the FA Cup to add to their League Cup triumph and Premier League title to secure what would be a first domestic treble in the history of men’s English football.
For Watford it’s a first appearance in the FA Cup Final since they lost 2-0 to Everton back in 1984. How the Hornets would love to make history this afternoon and win the famous trophy for the first time – however they face a daunting task against a team who many consider the best to ever grace the top tier of English club football.
Route to the final: Manchester City narrowly beat Brighton 1-0 in the semi-finals while opponents Watford came from two goals down to beat Wolves 3-2 in a last four thriller.
Ones to watch: In a team laden with stars Manchester City’s Sergio Agüero and Raheem Sterling deserve extra attention top-scoring with 32 goals and 23 goals respectively this season. At the opposite end of the pitch Watford fans will hope Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu can add to the 11 goals they have each notched this season.
