SEASON SO FAR

Manchester City will be deflated after drawing 0-0 with title-challengers Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.  The Cityzens remain in third place in the Premier League table.

The level of expectation going into this game vs reality here must be noted.  After a defensive masterclass from Mikel Arteta’s side, the Gunners returned to London pleased with their point secured.  The hosts came close in the first half to scoring following Nathan Ake’s header, but he aimed it straight at David Raya.  The Gunners were fortunate not to go into half-time without a single booking.  It seemed that Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta’s tactics cancelled each other out and a stalemate ensued.  But there are plenty of twists and turns left in the title race!

Update: Thursday 25 April: Man City negotiated a tricky-looking trip to face Brighton with ease.  The Cityzens departed the south coast with maximum points courtesy of a comfortable 4-0 road win. City remain just a point behind leaders Arsenal, with what could be a crucial game in hand.

Up next on home soil, Wolverhampton Wanderers are the visitors in the Premier League on Saturday 4 May, ahead of the visit of West Ham United on Sunday 19 May.  The match against the Hammers is the final game of the season.

ONES TO WATCH

Ballon d’Or nominee Erling Haaland has scored 18 Premier League goals in 21 games and continues to terrorise defences.  Midfielder Rodri has shined in the heart of midfield, while creative outlet Kevin De Bruyne is back and firing for Guardiola.
