Motherwell v Partick Thistle

Premiership.  Motherwell take on Partick Thistle at Fir Park in a clash between two sides with varying degrees of relegation worries.  Kick-off is at 3pm and tickets are available.

Just 5 points separate Partick Thistle from Motherwell in the table at the time of writing, and while the home side are currently in sixth place (compared to the Jags in eleventh) the Steelmen will be all too aware if they lose tonight they could be dragged towards a relegation dogfight.  But equally a win for Motherwell will see them remain in touch with the top five and a finish that could earn them a place in Europe next season.

Partick Thistle can draw plenty of positives from their recent league form, bouncing back from a narrow defeat to champions Celtic with an impressive 3-1 road win last weekend over St Johnstone. And a win today for Alan Archibald’s men could see them shoot up to mid-table just two points behind their hosts.

Previous head-to-head: Mid-December. the Jags coming out by 3 goals to 2 on home soil. Prior to that in the corresponding fixture at the end of September at Fir Park it was Motherwell who took the spoils courtesy of a 3-0 win.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
