Partick Thistle F.C.

Partick Thistle v Aberdeen

A Saturday afternoon nailbiter at Firhill Stadium sees Partick Thistle take on high-flying Aberdeen in the Premiership with the home side eyeing a much-needed win.  Kick-off is at 3pm and tickets are available.

Partick Thistle had a nightmare start to the season and although things have improved marginally of late the Jags are currently 11th in the Premiership – the relegation play-off position – three points ahead of Ross County who are bottom.  And while the teams above them are within touching distance if Partick Thistle lose today they could find themselves cut adrift if Hamilton Accies and Dundee – who both have winnable home matches – take three points.

For Aberdeen a win today is a must if they are to maintain their already slim chances of catching leaders Celtic, while the pursuit of Rangers in second place is very much alive.  And with an Old Firm clash taking place tomorrow one of both of those sides will be dropping points.

Can the Jags take maximum points to alleviate their relegation worries or will the Dons take the spoils?  All roads lead to the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill to find out.

Last match between the sides: 27th December – Adam Rooney scoring the only goal of the game to give Aberdeen a 1-0 win at Pittodrie.

Kick-off today is at 3pm.
