⚽️ Tottenham Hotspur Women welcome Bristol City Women to The Hive for a WSL Sunday special.  Kick-off is at 2pm with tickets on general sale.

Two teams with very different agendas is the story of this afternoon’s match as hosts Tottenham Hotspur look for a win that will press their claim for a place in the top-four of the WSL (see below for an introduction to the WSL)Bristol City meanwhile are on a desperate search for points – currently just 3 points separate Bristol and Liverpool who are bottom of the table and heading for relegation.

🚊🚗 Travel tips: The nearest station to The Hive is Canons Park tube – on the Jubilee Line – which is a 5 minute walk.  Turn left out of the station on Whitchurch Lane and after 200 feet the pedestrian entrance to The Hive will be on your right.  Edgware tube station – on the Northern Line – is approximately one mile from the ground.  Parking is available at The Hive if driving.

About the Super League: The FA Women’s Super League (FA WSL) is the top tier of women’s club football in England.  Featuring 12 teams it was established in April 2011 and runs from September to May.  The winner and runner-up in the league qualify to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League the following season while the team finishing bottom are relegated to the Championship.  The current FA WSL champions are Arsenal Women.

Teams in the Super League also take part in the SSE Women’s FA Cup which is open to all clubs competing in the top seven tiers of the women’s football pyramid in England.  The current cup holders are Mancester City.  Arsenal Women are the most successful cup team with 14 wins overall.

FA WSL teams also compete in FA Women’s Continental League Cup ealong with teams from the Championship.

The FA WSL teams for the 2019-20 season are the women’s teams of Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Birmingham City, Bristol City, Reading, West Ham, Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton, Tottenham and Manchester United.

In the London area there are 4 teams of interest: Chelsea (playing their home games at Kingsmeadow, Kingston-upon-Thames), Arsenal (Meadow Park, Borehamwood), West Ham (Rush Green Stadium, Romford) and Tottenham (The Hive, Edgware).
