⚽️ FA Cup fifth round. Wednesday night cup action sees Tottenham and Norwich go head-to-head under the floodlights at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Kick-off is at 7.45pm and tickets are on general sale.
Two ties and two replays has been the story so far this season for Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup: Middlesbrough and then Southampton seen off in hard-fought style in the third and fourth rounds respectively.
Tonight Spurs will aim to put the tie to bed – and secure their place in the quarter-finals – in one leg as they continue their bid to end a trophy drought that has lasted over 10 years. Manager Jose Mourinho has been brought in on a mission to bring silverware to north London and he’ll know better than anyone a successful FA Cup run is a great opportunity for Tottenham to give their fans some long overdue cause for proper celebration.
Visitors Norwich will not lack for support tonight after their supporters snapped up all 9,000 tickets available for away fans. Victories over Preston and Burnley have given Canaries fans an opportunity en masse to experience Spurs’ new home as they chase a first quarter-final place since 1992 in the world’s oldest cup competition.
Ones to watch: Tottenham striker Lucas Moura saved Spurs against Middlesbrough in the third round. He could be the difference tonight but Norwich top scorer Teemu Pukki will have other ideas about that.
⚽️ Kick-off is 7.45pm.
