2025 EVENT PREVIEW
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is the place to be on Friday 18 April for an exciting track cycling race programme in the iconic velodrome built for the London 2012 Olympics. Good Friday Track Cycling tickets are on sale now.
The one-day event has been graced by cycling superstars such as Stuart O’Grady, Bradley Wiggins and Sean Yates over the years. And once again with UCI status in 2025 it promises to be bigger and better than ever before!
Spectators are in for a treat as local, national and international competitors showcase their skills and strategic moves. More than 100 riders will compete in a programme featuring a UCI Sprint competition and UCI Elite Men’s endurance events including the world-famous Golden Wheel scratch race. UCI Elite Women’s endurance events will also take centre stage on an action-packed day of racing supported by some competitive endurance and sprint groups.
In 2024 the UCI men’s endurance competition featured former hour record holder and Giro D’Italia stage winner Alex Dowsett. Alongside Commonwealth bronze medallist Will Roberts. The UCI women’s category saw national scratch and points race champion Jenny Holl and international stars Francesca Selva of Italy and Alzbeta Bacikova of Slovakia go head-to-head.
This year another exciting line-up of riders has been confirmed, including five-time Tour de France stage winner Caleb Ewan and 2024 Olympic sprint silver medallist Matt Richardson and 2024 national sprint champion Pete Mitchell.
