The Aberdeen Promenade is the place to be this Saturday for the opening event of the Beach Volleyball Scotland Tour 2015.
The Grampian Open is the first of seven tournaments throughout the summer that will showcase some of Scotland’s best beach volleyball players as they take part in this popular annual series. For a flavour of what to expect take a look at this video of the CEV international tournament held at Portobello last September.
Today’s action features a men’s and women’s 2 versus 2 competition, as well as a recreational 4 versus 4 tournament. And there’s a bonus for spectators with the Scottish women’s national beach team, comprising of Mel Coutts and Olympian Lynne Beattie, taking part in the men’s competition as they continue their preparations for the next round of the Olympic qualifiers on the road to Rio 2016.
Admission is free to all spectators. We can’t promise you sunshine but we can promise you a memorable day of top-class beach volleyball action. Not to be missed!
